Having two children under 7 our holidays are pretty busy, but its all about making memory’s for us. For Edie and Hattie its mostly about going to the beach and trying to find what’s in the rockpools!

Top 5 things happening this summer in
Spring Fling – 27th till the 29th of May
The Spring fling is an open studio event the covers the whole of Dumfries and Galloway over three days in May, the event runs every May bank holiday and a great way to explore not only the local area but also some amazing artist.

Eden Festival – 8th till the 11th of June
Based just outside Moffatt the Eden Festival is the South of Scotland’s best kept festival secret, Eden Festival, This year it has a great line up including disco legends Sister Sledge, Elvana, Genreal Levy and many many more. Its a really family friendly event that anyone can enjoy whatever type of music you like.

Absolute Classics Festival – 27th 30th of July
If classic music is more your thing why not try the Absolute Festival at Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries, The event is presented by Michael Collins & Daniel King.

Gatehouse Gala – 30th if July till the 6th
Gala week is a real family favourite for us with so much going on all week, There are family treasure hunts, “Roon the water” fun run and also a shorter race for the kids. One of the highlights in the torchlight procession on Wednesday night along with a full pipe band.
There is also a gala parade on the Saturday which you can can normally finding us taking part.
Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities – July & August
Running for nearly 50 years now the summer festivities at Kirkcudbright have grown and grown every year, Kirkcudbright its self has a rich and vibrant history which comes alive in the summer.
There are events on all though the summer months but the highlight is the floodlit tattoo & fireworks display on the 26th of August, we would highly recommend going is your in the local area.
