Dumfries and Galloway is famous for its rich wildlife, and winter is a particularly stunning time to explore. Spot red squirrels, wintering geese, and, if you’re lucky, the elusive red kites as you stroll through scenic nature trails. The Mersehead Nature Reserve is especially beautiful this time of year, with migratory birds arriving from the Arctic.
